Change is coming to Bremerton. Let’s get ready

Bremerton is growing and changing. Predictions suggest Bremerton will add 20,000 residents and 7,000 shipyard jobs in the next 2 decades. That will stress Bremerton’s schools, streets and budget.

We need fresh ideas and nww leadership to navigate these changes and ensure Bremerton thrives.

No third term for Mayor Wheeler

For 16 years, Mayor Wheeler has served our city, the last 8 as mayor. He's a nice guy, but his shortcomings are holding Bremerton back. He’s a poor communicator, has mis-managed the city’s budget and lacks a vision for the furture.

The Case for Change:

It's time for a mayor who will fight for Bremerton's future, not just protect the status quo. Here’s why Mayor Wheeler isn’t that leader:

Bremerton’s ballooning deficit

Mayor Wheeler inherited a large rainy day fund. Today, that fund is drying up, and our city is deep in the red.

The "Old Boys' Club"

Mayor Wheeler’s administration prioritizes loyalty over merit, creating an insular environment that hinders progress and new ideas.

Homeless Crisis

Homelessness is a huge problem everywhere, including Bremerton. Mr. Wheeler has no solutions.

Disappearing Trees

Mayor Wheeler’s leadership has overseen the alarming destruction of Bremerton’s vital urban tree canopy, with no clear plans for replanting.

Leadership Void

Mr. Wheeler has failed to lead on critical issues. He literally refuses to engage with the public or City Council on tough issues, instead sending underlings. His inability to craft and share a vision hurts Bremerton.

Hurdles for Business

Bremerton's local businesses are vital, but Mayor Wheeler's administration makes it unnecessarily difficult for them to thrive.

With all due respect…

We intend no disrespect to Mr. Wheeler, who is a good man, loves Bremerton and is not a terrible mayor. But ‘not terrible’ is a pretty low bar. Mr. Wheeler does not deserve a third term as Mayor.

Vision for Bremerton

Build upon the great legacy of Bremerton, with new ideas for the future. We're seeking a new era of proactive leadership that tackles challenges head-on, champions bold solutions, and unleashes our city's full potential. We envision a Bremerton respectful of our history, but charged by innovation. and empowering its people. We seek a Bremerton that is safe and focused on future generations.
