Change is coming
Bremerton is growing and changing, creating challenges and opportunities for our city. We need fresh ideas and new leadership to ensure Bremerton thrives.
Vote out Mayor Wheeler: no 3rd Term
Mayor Wheeler is a nice guy, but he’s been in power in Bremerton for 16 years, including eight as mayor. His shortcomings are holding Bremerton back. #anybodybutwheeler
America’s politicians cling to power.
Boomers don’t know when to step down: Joe Biden, Trump, Andrew Cuomo, ancient Senators, Supreme Court Justices all stayed too long.
Enough!
Mr. Wheeler will be 70 years old before the next mayoral term is over.
Mr. Wheeler has been in power in Bremerton for 16 straight years, the last 8 as mayor. We thank him for his service. But he shouldn’t rule forever.
Mr. Wheeler comes from a generation of elders who don’t know how to pass the baton. He needs Voters need to tell him voters, “time’s up”.
The Case for Change:
It's time for a mayor who will fight for Bremerton's future, not just protect the status quo. Here’s why Mayor Wheeler isn’t that leader:
The "Old Boys' Club"
Mayor Wheeler’s administration prioritizes loyalty over merit, creating an insular environment that hinders progress and new ideas.
Homeless Crisis
Homelessness is a huge problem in Bremerton. Mr. Wheeler has no solutions.
Bremerton’s deficit
Mayor Wheeler inherited a large rainy day fund. Today, that fund is drying up, and our city is deep in the red.
Disappearing Trees
Mayor Wheeler’s leadership has overseen the alarming destruction of Bremerton’s vital urban tree canopy, with no clear plans for replanting.
Leadership Void
Mayor Wheeler fails lead by articulating a vision on critical issues. He hides behind staffers and avoids accountability. Bremerton adrift at a time when decisive leadership is desperately needed.
Hurdles for Business
Bremerton's local businesses are vital, but Mayor Wheeler's administration makes it unnecessarily difficult for them to thrive.
With all due respect…
We intend no disrespect to Mr. Wheeler, who is a nice man. But he lacks vision for the future, is a poor communicator and avoids tough challenges. Bremerton needs a fresh start with a new leader. Mr. Wheeler does not deserve a third term as Mayor.
